Sentences

A sentence must have a verb to be a proper sentence.

Remember a verb is a doing or being word

These are two sentences, the verbs are highlighted in bold.

The cow jumped over the moon.
I used to be a rhinoceros.

The bold phrase is nota sentence because it does not have a verb:

I bought a car. For £500.

A sentence must also make sense on its own.
