| how to describe the water cycle |
When the weather is warm, water in lakes, rivers and the sea evaporates - it turns into vapour and rises into the air. In the air, the vapour cools down again and turns into small drops of water. This is called condensation. The drops make clouds. As the drops get bigger, they fall back down to the earth. This is called precipitation. On earth, the water runs into rivers, and back into the sea. Trees and plants use water in the soil. The water moves from the roots into the leaves. Somes of it evaporates into the air. This is called transpiration.
